City North Hotels
At the north end of the city centre you’ll find the grandest lakeside hotels and the international area (home to the headquarters of many famous organisations, including the United Nations and the Red Cross). Although this is more of a commercial and bureaucratic area, it does look across towards Geneva’s most striking landmark, the Jet d'Eau. Roughly north of the station, the district of Les Paquis, with its thriving red light district, can sometimes be a little too lively at night. But closer to the lake there are more restful areas, such as the Parc Mon-Repos.
