Dating from 1872, the D’Angleterre is an imposing property, wonderfully located on the shore of Lake Geneva. It magnificently blends the great tradition of regal Swiss hospitality with the utmost in contemporary five star comfort and service. The large lobby retains many original features, like the high ceilings, marble floors and stairs.
The 39 guestrooms are classically designed: either in Louis XV style or in a manner reminiscent of a British country house, with flower-patterned chintzes and deep upholsteries. Regardless of the type of décor, all are clean and immaculately maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. Each of the bedrooms has the most modern facilities including internet access, ipod docking station and pay per view movies.
The hotel's "Windows" restaurant is a beautiful, bright room overlooking the lake. It is open throughout the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering an extensive international menu. Guests can also enjoy a typically English afternoon tea here. Alternatively, the intimate “Leopard Room Bar” is the perfect spot for meeting or relaxing. Featuring colonial-style, safari inspired décor, it has antique trunks doubling as tables and faux animal hide upholsteries. Here guests can sample aged malt whiskies, fine cognacs and Cuban cigars. The hotel’s gym is well equipped with a selection of modern cardio-vascular technology, abdominal trainers, floor mats and hand held weights.
