bathroom a little small but lovely toiletries. Lighting in the room fairly dim especially if you want to read but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The hotel was beautiful and full of character. Our room on the top floor was pretty small but perfectly formed and we loved the tiny lift. The food was not cheap but was absolutely outstanding. The worst thing about the hotel was definitely the fact that smoking was allowed everywhere (especially unpleasant if people are smoking cigars as it permeates throughout the public areas) but this is standard throughout Geneva, so is more of a policy criticism that one of the hotel. I got the impression that the hotel more often accommodated business people than tourists but the staff were very happy to help organise excursions and recommend restaurants if asked. I would definitely stay here again.

Everywhere we ate was extremely good. The worst food we had was at the food court at Geneva train station, and even that was ok. The Swiss Army knife museum is pretty disappointing- basically a cupboard size room in the basement of a random shop which sells a variety of knives and weapons. I would recommend climbing the tower in the cathedral and taking a boat tour of the lake.

Chose this hotel on the basis of previous reports on this web-site and was not disappointed. At present (April 2008) two or more floors in the hotel are being re-decorated but there is minimal disruption to the hotel's functions. Good restaurant; very friendly staff throughout.

Hotel provided a free travel pass on Geneva's public transport for the duration of the stay (maybe a widespread practice in Geneva, but most welcome)

An ideal hotel for getting around with bus/tram links for all areas a short walk away. Staff very helpful in giving directions.
The restuarant does not have a huge choice, but we ate in for four nights, and found the food excellent. Useful to have a restuarant on site that is open late and good room service. The atmosphere in the restuarant was good.

The Red Cross musseum is an absolute must, it really brings home their admirable work as well as the real effects of war and tragedy.
Train travel to other city's is easy and a mountain railway trip worth while.
Philipe Pateck is interresting if you like watches and enamelling.
Reformation wall and display was well put together and thought provoking.

A very comfortable and friendly four star hotel with a "family run" atmosphere. I was aware that several guests were regulars (some asking for their "usual room"). Staff were friendly, helpful. The restaurant serves some delicious, if rather pricy cuisine. Certainly worth an experience. The entire hotel is baby friendly including the restaurant.
Top Tip
Some good restaurants in town too. Not much to see for tourists - especially in winter.

A really lovely hotel. The food was excellent in the bistro and the staff were unbelievably helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to others. This hotel is very close to the old town and the theatre district. Lots of jewellery shops nearby and I actually missed the flea market which happened on Saturday near Place due Cirque (head towards Caruche)
